Artist's Description
This bull moose displays the flehmen response, as he courts his lady friend, in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, CO, USA.
The flehmen response is a behaviour whereby an animal curls it's upper lip exposing its front teeth. This facilitates the transfer of pheromones during the mating season.
Welcome fellow travelers. Though originally from Illinois,
Colorado has been home since 1959. Since, as a boy, I snapped my first photo, I have been captivated by the symphony of beauty, and intricate design which surrounds us. God is the composer, and this humble musician, my camera is my instrument, strives to do justice to His composition. If I have been successful, and to that end, I hope you enjoy your journey down my Colorado Trails. Please feel free to leave a comment or contact me at: jim3584@msn.com.
